Perchance to sleep

You rest a’ bed, frozen in slumber, your breath draws steady, and quiet.
i glance in at you, to view the line of your jaw, the fullness of your lips,
and i am undone.
Compelled, I steal to your side, kneeling at the edge of your bed
to watch the shadows pass o’er your face–i know of whom you dream…
and i listen with heart and soul as i lean over you, my lips lightly brushing yours and my hair spilling around our faces.
I love you–i barely breathe the words,
and your soft gentle eyes open into the storm of grey in mine.
